Best Dishes #2: Two Bone BBQ Ribs at Saint Luke’s

So far the team behind Saint Luke’s have done everything right. The renovation of the landmark East End church at the entrance to the Barrowlands in Calton was one of the most impressive undertakings of its type in recent years, yielding spectacular results and gifting the city with a world class small venue in an under utilised corner of the city centre.

While much of the talk about Saint Luke’s has centred around its place as an emerging stage for music or glitzy events, they also serve food that requires your immediate attention.

A funky, soul food menu in a bar space straight out of Shoreditch (in a good way), The Winged Ox is the dining and craft beer side of the operation.

Star of the show is their slow cooked ribs, served in one, two or three bone portions. This is a meaty delight, which comes with a portion of fries and a fresh helping of slaw. Comfort food at its best, perfect with a pint.
